Do the above clutches still have issues or have I read it wrong somewhere. Is it the rivets on the plate or something?
I'm looking for an OEM-type clutch that can handle up to 350 bhp/torque. A helix clutch is a bit out my price range...

OEM Toyota is better than exedy.

Helix clutches are not exactly megabucks. If you are planning on upping the power there is going to be expenditure needed.

Once you start looking into engine rebuilds the cost of a clutch is a minor consideration at your proposed power level.

I may be looking in the wrong place then.. I can't seem to find a Helix clutch kit for less than £400-£450. That is way more than a stock item...
My engine has been rebuilt the only limiting factor (apart from clutch) is the ecu (turbo etc will come later)

I'm after the oem "feel" and durability with increase torque holding ability and read that exedy and helix fit those requirements

The OEM clutch is more than capable of handling 350bhp and related torque under normal road used. If you rag the arse off the car on a daily basis then you'll need to upgrade. The Helix organic clutch is one of the less expensive upgrades so if you are struggling to afford that then I'd wait and save up. This might sound a bit radical in this day and and age. Just call me old fashioned!

I'm running an OEM clutch and 330bhp doing track time regularly in the summer, I've not experienced any slip! Ive not got any intentions of getting any more power mind.

Don/mike are right, if you want much more power then you will find a good clutch one of the cheaper mods :D

OEM is good as stated.

As alternatives (that I would recommend)...

I'm going to be running one of these on my track car:

[Torque capacity 450]

However, you could go for one of these:

[Torque capacity 390]

I ran a RPS max street clutch in my st205.

It is significantly heavier than standard but I didn't have any problems in 20K miles before I sold the car.

Looks good. I have been put off 4-6 puck clutches but that does look temping. Why is it cheaper than the max street clutch?

Also, it says the maxstreet (oem like) is 15% stiffer on the pedal, but Diceman said its significantly heavier than stock...
I take it 15% is a guestimate?

SOLD Stock it is.
Thank you all for your help in changing my mind and going to stock (I really didn't think it was any good after 300bhp)

What are the benefits of an oem cover and helix organic plate? How much more torque will it hold over totally stock setup.
Also, is the a difference between and St205 and an st185 stock clutch cover?
