Finally got round to fiting my dinky FMIC. :D

Came across all sorts of niggles along the way, like the rad falling apart but it's nearly sorted now. I just need a new rad temp switch and I am good to go.

I was able to retain the standard fan by rotating it 180°. two of the three brackets line up perfectly, the last had to be cut and welded.

The IC is offset to allow easier pipe routing.

Not yet, once I have rad temp switch I can get it all back together and take it for a spin.

It's taken longer and cost more than expected because of the rad failure and I will miss the trackday at Keevil as a consequence. :(

Looks good. It is small. What kind of gains are you expecting?

Absolutely no idea! :D

It is about 50% larger than the TMIW, and much better positioned.
I am after lower intake temps over more power, although I should be able to up the boost a bit.

Nice work mate, have you thought about clocking the turbo also?

Yes, but I was working to a strict time frame and there wasn't time to make an actuator bracket.

I will leave it now until I get a CT20 to go on the car.

Yeaaaaaaa!

It runs!

Finished rebuilding the car today.
No boost leaks, no water leaks and no nasty rattles.

Only done about 10 miles so far, but it all seems ok.

Good news. Have you upped the boost or are you bedding it in on stock boost until your fully satisfied?

That's a good question.

With the top mount it was boosting to 9 psi in 1st & 2nd and 11.5psi in the rest of the gears.
That was a little puzzling as I had disabled the TVSV but not fitted a relief valve. :? :?: :?

With the FMIC it hits 6psi in all gears with no other alterations. :?

I will be getting a couple of tanks of fuel through it and then upping the boost to 11.5psi until I fit my late spec 17psi ecu.
