Sorry if this has been covered but is the caldina
Side feed inlet manifold a straight swap or is it more involved then that and lots of other bits are needed aswell?

refer to my comments regarding TB/TPS, PS Idle Up Valve, # of vacuum ports, fuel rail etc

It is only a straight swap in that you can mount the manifold on the head. Various modifications need to be made to fit all the ancillaries around it.

Thanks deecee, looks like the idea of going side feed and barrel charge is going out the window rather quickly

Im shore dave p just had his bolted on and that was it. Its very easy on the 185 to fit the side feed. The caldina head is the same as the 205 same injectors and fuel rail so i carnt see why in wont just bolt on like the side feed for the 185 does

st215 has top feed rail and st205 has side feed
Dave P cut some of the aluminium support away on the manifold to make room for his aftermarket fuel rail, deleted the TB water heater pipes and PS idle up pipes, put the wiring loom on the rear of the manifold, added a hole(s ?) in the manifold for sensors, went direct from IACV outlet straight to air intake

Sure it bolts on, but its all the extra stuff you either want or you don't.

i was with Dave P Saturday and he said about the a bit had to be cut off for his HKS fuel rail, but he thought that was about it, don't for get the fuel rail sits in the head not the manifold, on any manifold there will be holes for sensors, as for TB water heater pipes that's a mod that should be done any way, it is only there to stop iceing up of the throttle body with in most climates you need, as for wiring carnt see what you need to do, im using a manifold from an N/A and still using all the same 185 sensors wiring and throttle body, yes i have to do a little work to the manifold so the idle up valve works but that's about it, i even had to block some of the holes up as there were to many, ok i haven't fitted a caldina manifold so carnt say for shore, but seeing as its the same block i carnt see what would be so hard to fit 1 to a 205 and its like any thing to do with moding you tend to have to do some work to get things to fit, but that's all part of the fun :)

By the OP's question of whether it is a straight swap, then it isn't, with the need to modify.
All I am doing is just confirming that there are some things that need to be done and it is not a straight forward plug and play swap.

Yes, the fuel rail sits on the head, but the factory rail still interferes with part of the manifold, therefore modification required.
Vac/Water heater pipes = modification as the st205 hard lines are different for vac and water from the st215

There are less sensor/vac inlets on the st215 head than the st205 head, therefore you need to modify the manifold to accept all st205 ancillaries.

Whether a person needs or doesn't need various functionality, is a decision best left to the owner to decide.

Oh - and manifold stays are different as well.
