Trying to help someone diagnose a PFC problem. I think he's registered on here & waiting for activation.

Apperently it's basically running but won't drive the idle solenoid.
Also, the bat volt on the commander is reading 0.

My thought on the idle may be the throttle closed switch not engaging, but puzzled by the bat volt as the ECU must be powered to run the engine & drive the commander.

Any help from the experienced PFC users would be appreciated.

I haven't seen any legitimate new registrations, please ask him to drop me an email if he has tried.

There is so much spam its sometimes difficult to tell who is real and who is not!

No ideas on the problem - seems very odd.

I've always got the datalogger if you get stuck. Trying to remember if idle is in the sensor list. Not ringing any bells

I seem to remember when we were playing with Phil's we could view whether the throttle closed switch was made.

I'm wondering if the voltage is measured from the permanent live and that could be missing.

I believe it is shown on the hand controller as "IDL" or suchlike and is in the sensor check section.

0.0V is an odd one, I can only assume there are 2 different locations/wires and one has an issue.

There is a permanent live and 2x switched live which are normally connected together in the standard ECU, often only 1 is wired.

I gather it's from an MR2, just waiting to see which revision it's from as early ones have different idle solenoid wiring.

Hi folks it's myself who has the problem. Big thanks to Chris for starting the ball rolling and all the replies. I have asked the seller which Rev it was from today. I really hope it is the wrong rev and it's just me jumping the gun and assuming all SW20's from the MR2 turbos were the rev3 3sgte.
Here's the serial number

Tom & Chris

I note it doesn't say AP Engineering on the sticker, but if you unscrew the lid off the ecu, it will say AP Engineering on the board if it is for the rev2 sw20/sw21 3sgte.

Second Generation is

###-XXXX
Where ### is the batch build number, so 000 or 010 or 020 (ie batch build 010)
XXXX is the unique item #

AP Engineering units are;

YY# XXXX
YY is the build year
# is the batch build number
XXXX is the unique item #

or
A XXXX
XXXX is the unique item # "

Are we sure it is an early unit?

yep...that's what my research leads me to believe.
curious, what did the seller say about the fault and the model , have you got a link to the old for sale advert etc

From what i can see its got the same chip andn stickers on the board as my old rev3 sw20 power fc

It was bought from an eBay listing but I paid outside of eBay via goods on PayPal which until I emailed him about the issue last week was still in my watch list. Didn't say much except it was from a working Celica that has now been broken for spares. I have emailed the seller today to ask which rev/model it was they broke.

Going to try it on a 185 tomorrow and another 205 which should help narrow the problem down a little. Then I'll try the voltages on each pin out with the blitz ecu at idle and write them down and do the same with the apexi if need be.
