My charge cooler pump died on a short circuit and caused a burn to the car´s chassis loom. Was a overhauled pump I put in last year. Now I´m fed up of peeing, rumbeling ( the original pump of my car) and short circuited ( the replacement ) pumps and thinking about to switch over to a Craig Davies electrical pump. Did anybody used one of this pumps therefor ? Any opinions ? Oh, I forgot to say: Switching to a FMIC is no option. Greetings, Eric |

I think this would work fine. There are a few options for refurbished pumps over here in the UK if you wanted to try another. Although with the loom damaged an aftermarket one may well be a lot easier to sort out. |

I repaired and modified the loom today. The pump was running on switched power already as I have a ST205 engine in my ST185 CS with a late spec MR2 turbo ECU from Mines. The guy who made the loom therefor connected the pump on switched power without a fuse, only god knows why. I extended the loom while repairing it. The switched power leed now switch a relais that switch permanent power from the fuse box, including a own fuse to the pump. Only thing is that the fuse blow instand, caused by the short circuit pump. A refurbished pump from the UK will cost a lot of shipping to get here to Germany, to sent my old one back will double the shipping and I don´t think that I will get a refound for the burned pump anyway. So I think to buy a EWP here will cost only a bit more and will be a upgrade compared to a refurbished standart pump. I´m only confused about which one to buy. |

Way too expensive, sunny. The EWP80 from Craig Davies makes 80 l/min too and costs 209 Eur incl VAT. Making a bracket isn't so much work to do. |

It ended up by buying the EWP80. Fitted it to the car today: The pump is very slim, but got big connections so I needed adapter hoses I luckily found on eBay. Started with unpacking the parts and remove the burned pump: Needed some time of brainstorming to find the right position for the pump and making a custom bracket for the pump: Only needed to replace the power connector by the one from the burned pump and bolt the pump into it´s new place: The underside cover fits barely and I´ll have to think about it to cut it out if the pump makes too much noise as the cover touching the pump, but I´ll decide this after a test drive I didn´t done. |

Hi, looks good, you can also try to heat the plastic with a blow-dryer and bend it if you have the chance to get enought space greetz |
