Post subject:  ST205 Downpipe replacement

Hi Guys,

looking for recommendations on a downpipe. I see Aussie downpipes getting quoted as the best but i am struggling to find a supplier.

I`ve found this one on Ebay

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/TOYOTA-MR2-TURBO-CELICA-ST205-DECAT-DE-CAT-DOWNPIPE-/310228623628?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item483b11210c

It seems to be a popular seller but has anyone got one fitted or can point me in the right direction for a decent replacement thats pretty straight forward to fit,

Thanks

Berk down pipe is available from www.gtschris.com

Recent reports suggest the pipe benefits from a bit of a tidy up internally with a die grinder or similar. I've been pleased with mine.

You have trouble to find a seller that still offers Aussi products because Aussi went out of business some years ago.

Cheap eBay downpipes aren´t the best. Some have not enough room in the wastegate area so the wastegate flap can´t open fully.

After my Aussi downpipe cracked two times I replaced it with the one from Berk. Finish of the welds inside the pipe is real horrorbly and may benefit from grinding the welds down befor installing. I´ve decided against as I bought the coated version and didn´t want to destroy the coating.

iv seen the berk decat pipes and the welinding is not the best and the finish is rely bad :( here are some photos of the inside and the end, all so the flanges were both bent and need linishing to get them flat, all decat pipes you can get are made in china now,

Looks like the clearance for the bolts / stud/nut is marginal on the underneath at the top and the top one at the bottom.

Every downpipe I have ever seen has this, given that you have gone to the trouble of making a jig etc it would be nice to see this got right.

don't know if you can see but we have made it so you can get the top bolt on the bottom flange in and given more room on the top bolt on the top flange but as I said were still working on it to make shore it is right and will have the bottom V bracket and proper gasket with it not cheap ebay gasket
