my ambitions are modest working slowly over the next few years to reach 300 then onto high 300s to 400 bhp max. Would like to see that at the wheels.

400bhp at the wheels will be as near as makes no difference 500bhp at the crank. Not my intention to quibble about the semantics of 'modest', and if I read your post incorrectly then I apologies.

Depends who you're comparing him with I guess. Got any links to high output 3SGTEs he's built?

Edit - whoops missed that, Muneeb Masters at Autocraft Midlands I guess. Didn't realise he was so reasonably priced.

Given his location I do wonder if he has been building engines for other front men for a while?

It's more a case of figuring out who he has been building stuff for.

Interestingly I spoke to a new engine builder who has "mastered" the 3sgte called Muneeb Masters, he comes highly recommended and seems to know his stuff. Having spoken to him the cost of building an engine up is half of what most people quote.

I have heard of other 'highly reccomended' people who build 900BHP 3sgte and never had a problem. I wouldn't go to them either.
I would want to know a few people who have run his engines long enough to see any problems, and know them well enough to tell the truth.

Well at this stage it's purely academic, just wanted some opinions and reality checks. I think high 300s is probably where I want to be. When the time comes I will more than likely find a fresh block to build up.

Thanks for advice all

I can see you doing what a lot of us have done and spec the build to ~450bhp but turn the wick down to the high 300's so it lasts ;-) If you are looking for a block, crank etc. to start a build I have some in stock
