Hi all, Anyone have any experiences with rolling the lip on the rear guards of a ST185? Am looking at guard rolling at the rear as the panel beaters didn't do it prior to painting (amazingly annoying/frustrating I know *sigh). In discussions with the local GT Four club, the view is that the guard is very hard to roll due to 3 layers of sheet metal which make up the guard lip. One method would be to cut slots between the spot welds to relieve the stress on the metal, roll the lip up then weld the sectioned pieces to restore panel strength in that area. Then seam seal and primer. And yes, I am resigned to the fact that I will need to wreck the new paint job and get it repaired after the fact Let me know your experiences and thoughts. Cheers Dave |

I'm pretty sure when reading through Mixer's build thread he did this, so he may be able to comment. Not something I personally have experience of but maybe have a look at his build thread and maybe drop him a PM? |
