OK guys I'm getting a few conflicting comments here on one post I'm told the power you can run on a standard lump is standard power on the other it's 360hp I want to run at about 290-300 the engine had had a full rebuild sump upto head new everything valves, pistons, rings, crank, rods, big and little ends etc and all standard genuine Toyota parts
What do I need do to run this power (approx) and run it safe as I don't want to rebuild it again
Best regards Baz

Hi,

my recomandation

- a 3" exhaust with high flow cat (if needed)
- TTE tmic, higher water ration (2/3water and 1/3 anti freeze is the mix i go here in austria, the same can be used for the engine water, water cooles anti freeze and alcohol not)
- raising the airflow over the radiator package (shroud in front of the radiators, opening of the hood vent the same trick counts under the car -> air flow brake away edge under the car after the radiator package, those alu protection shields are cheap and can be modified to do the job)
- a good and cheap support mod is to use a pipe instead the hose from the radiator up to the thermostat housing (your turbo will love to have water under high revs)

at this point you have the car not more complex and nearly cheap uprated except the TTE tmic which is a little expensive, both the exhaust and the IC pushed my boost 0,1bar
or in other words from 0,9 to 1,1bar with oem boost controll, raising the airflow through the radiator package makes the power stable and the pipe i told above gives you enough
water under high revs and boost to the parameter "safe" you set

Tte tmic is a "wrc" (Toyota team Europe) top mounted intercooler.

Hope that helps. I'm just going to look over your posts to see if you have a ST205 or a crate (205 or 185)

Just looked and you have a ST205.

Hi,

as told above, +1 cooling row and air buffels to direct the flow throught the radiator

Would the charge cooler not be more efficient than an air to air tmi

They are referring to the 'special' TTE chargecooler which looks similar to the standard one but is deeper. Lots of people will choose a front mounted intercooler instead.

Hi,

in my opinion to complex and to much work for 300HP, i droped the TTE tmic idea becouse you can
safe a boost controller by that, my alternative would to use the oem tmic with a higher water ratio as told above
and a boost controller set to 1,1bar

Hi,

went back to the oem airbox with a K&N panel filter, with 1,2bar you should have your target
i recommend to went back to 1,1bar (with 1,2 you are on the boarderline of knock -> ringland death)
