Guys,

Looks like the Blueflame system isn't going to be made for me after all.
My 2nd option is therefore a Mongoose.
I have numerous places to go and buy one.

What I'd like to know is how they fit.
Are they fitted using gaskets?
Are they a clamp fit, sleeve fit or other?

If I buy the system in does all the nessesary fixings come with it?

Cheers all

Steve

Just to re-cap for any future buyers of Mongoose systems.
I purchased one from Amber Performance in the end.
£317.75 all in.
The system arrived bubblewrapped and shrouded in a sticky black shrink-wrap material.
All the pipe work was found to be in good condition (as you would expect).
The 3 sections were well made. The system also comes with 1 x clamp which fits onto the sleeve section (frontpipe), and a clamp hanger which fits around the backbox section and gives the two rear hangers some adjustment.

I had my system fitted by Ian Smith as I was having a downpipe fitted at the same time.

We did not use any gaskets for the exhaust as Ian used a special high temp silicon sealant for the joins.

The exhaust went on very well indeed and it sounds very nice too. Quiet at cruising speeds and a nice rumble on acceleration. Had the occasional 'pop' sound too which is a nice little surprise.
Value for money is very good. I would buy another too if the future put me in the same position.

Steve

Steve - what diameter is the exhaust? DOes it have a flexi section?

Kris.

The exhaust pipe sections are 2.5".
The tailpipe is approx 4.5".
The front pipe is indeed a flexi section. The front pipe also has a sleeved end to allow movement/adjustment to the middle section. The sleeve is clamped together once the system is located/positioned to suit.

Steve

p.s. Notcied a blow today......it's either the clamp section or the sealant in one of the joins. :(.
