After a small personal nightmare with Dewsbury Auto Salvage (still waiting for refund) i'm having trouble locating a new ST165 Rad, Toyota will do a swap out for £190+VAT if I had one spare (but do not) and I was wondering if anyone has tried fitting a 205 Radiator instead? I see from the GTFours site that they are different, fan and fitting position but could I force the issue?

tia.

Dys Real - I suppose anything is possible!

I have a spare 205 radiator that you could borrow and offer up to see how this may fit and you could take it from there?

I suspect though that the 205 rad will be a non starter since the biggest problem that I can see would be the outlet from the turbo - this feeds back into the top of the radiator, unlike all the other GT4s :(

Cheers for the offer Kris - it's one of those things where a little experience and a little more knowledge would go a long way for me. I did wonder about drilling in and modifying a 162 rad for the turbo outlet, but considering the heat / pressure that would be there – I don’t think some chemical metal and some inventive fixing is the way forward.

Having just looked at a 185 rad (shame I didn’t photo it), I’m guessing that the water return is to the metal pipe at the bottom of the unit, could be way off track here though.

Hmmm, food for thought. I can’t leave it too long though – the current unit has a ball of fibreglass in the bottom and is wet to the touch from coolant…

Thanks for the info btw Robbie.
