Since removing the bonnet insulation I can hear whooshing noises.
I have no dumpvalve.
The car runs fine and since fitting my K&N induction kit with cold air feed it roars well yet stays nice and smooth at cruising speeds.
I get the noises mainly when the revs build up and I change gear (just like a DV would do) the whoosing noises might be the K&N but I'm not sure so I thought I'd ask.

Thanks

Steve

When using an open filter like K&N, A'PEXi, HKS, etc, you can hear the turbo spooling far better.. Specially now you've taken out the insulation. This might be the sound you hear (during the rev building). When you hear DV sounds while changing gear or letting off the throttle, you might suffer and hear compressor surge.. The TB closes, air inside is forced to go back, through the spinning turbo compressor wheel, causing it to slow down or stop. A DV prevents that by releasing that air, so [IF it's surge] you might look into fitting one (better for the turbo's life too)?

Cheers Rene.

I'm only running stock boost and I never let the car go above 6000rpm....
I don't want to fit a recirc dv as that will more than likely mean fitting a straight intake system which I don't really want.
perhaps a dv26-D baileys one might be worthwhile?
I'm not after the whoosing (posing/showing off noises) sounds....just the function!

A stock MR2 recirc bov could fit your bill too then, they're quite quiet. And no need to get a straight intake mate; you can route it to the turbo-AFM hose somewhere?
But before you buy anything, I'm sure others on here would know other possible causes fo you sounds?

then useing the t piece that came with the dv and that was it mate.
a local engineering company done the welding for £20

dont worry about the pic mate i am just gonna do it at the airport car park before driving home. after asking for a engine bay pic on both gt4 sites and just getting replies about vac hose and the like that i have already check double check and even test the best i can i give up and am just gonna do what i think is right. after thinking long and hard about it for the last 2 weeks and being tea total for the same amount of time i am sure i am right in my thinking a engione bay pic would have proved i am right but what the hell will so know tomorrow

will post the pic of the bv as soon as i get back home and spent some time with the family. will be on around 6pm if i can post it if not will place it in my online photo album and give you the link

thks loosey but i think the 205 is different to the cs. the pic above shows the pipe i am own about that is it in the right place after refitting it the otherday.
i think your pipe is routed differently because of the afm the cs had.
There is a steel pipe with a bracket welded to it its about 6" long and attaches into the head via a short bit of rubber hose and 90 degree elbow.

Is that metal elbow there already? I suppose the people who welded the 1 inch piece also supplied the small piece they welded on?
Looks very neat.

Cheers

yeah they will have the 1" pipe to weld on and should be able to drill a hole or it as well if its a goo engineering place.
the metal elbow is a orig part
