Toyota Celica ST205 Group N Rally Car - ex Toyota Team Europe Recce car. This is the car driven by former Brtish Rally Champion Jonny Milner and owned for the last nine years by Richard Baker. It is a regular competitor on the Wyedean stages rally.

Specification:
It is running on Optimax with a MoTec ECU for reasons of economy. As the homologation expired at the end of last year a number of mods are planned to keep it competitive. It is currently running a straight cut dog box from Elite Transmissions the same people that build the 'box for the Fensport Gen7 Time Attack Celica. This box has been a huge success according to Richard and the car is much better to drive now. nterestingly the car runs Superstrut front suspension however it is all rose jointed.

Surprisingly large water injection tank is fitted. Apparently the water is used to cool the air charge temps when running anti-lag

Nice pics indeed.

what I don't understand tho is why are most of the interior plastics still in place ??

Never seen a rally car with speaker covers still in place...

The British Motor Sports Association (MSA) stipulate that you must cover the interior panels so the easiest way is to use the original internal trim. I suspect this is a TTE recce car converted to Group N spec. The owner removed the original seats as they are worth over £1000 each  and has replaced them with cheaper seat. Maybe he's done the same with the trim, who knows? Most race saloon cars now use carbon fibre sheet to blank off the internal panels.

It's an ex recce car, no competition car. If the homologation has expired I'm sure interior panels will be taken out in the near future.. Today most additional cars of a team have (almost) full interior. For instance the Meteo Volvo S80's I've seen at recent WRC rallies - they have full interior but are caged up and run ALS.

Nice report again Don :)

Yes, I have two of these homologation water injection manifolds just one of many weird and wonderful homologation differences. Never considered re-activating it as the Aquamist injector is a better nebuliser

This isn't actually mine but the photo shows the same general position where I had the water injection nozzle
