Anyone know the splined socket size for the cylinder head bolts on a 205 gt4? I only want one socket, i don't want to purchase a whole set of these as i don't have any use for any for the others. |

It is very worthwhile getting some advice on the type of socket also. IIRC you need a long shaft on the spline to clear the head casting. At least I think you do on the ST185 and the Halfords type clash with the casting ![]() |

They're 10mm. Heads are 12 point but if you're careful you can normally get away with a normal 10mm allen key type bit. Ideally you need a long version otherwise you need to remove cams. I have been known to cut the angle off a normal allen key and use a 10mm socket on it ![]() If you use ARP studs, you'll need the cams out anyway. On a 185 head, there's also a bit of casting which fowls the back of the socket needed, so you need to check and grind away the offending piece before final cleaning & assembly so you can get rid of the dust. |
