Hello all, any tips on how to do this - do i split the transfer box off first and then the gear box?

It will all come off in one lump Rob
remove the block to transfer brackets and ondo all the bolts hplding the gb to the block and it should just be a wiggle it about exercise. one key thong it to get the engie and gb in alignmet. if either is skewed wrt the other it's hard to slide the gearbox shaft through the clutch plate. If you dpn't have a load leveller to help then taking as much as possible off the gb would be a bonus. If you do decide to split the transfer off then things are going tp be much easier. Depends on your patience and tool availability as much as anything

thanks Steve, i remember wiggling the last one and getting really *bleep* off with it as i thought i was doing it all wrong.. At the moment i dont have a load leveler, but i have some man sized tools to attack it with.
I'm still deciding what to do with the engine and motec as its not selling and im not giving it away, so i may well be using that engine stand i have after all?

It's easy to catch the transfer lump on the back of the block. It needs to be rotated down about 20 degrees to let it clear.
