I hate to say it but if you took it apart without a big gaseous release (from shock not you  ) then the seals are shot

The shocks are actually sealed units as they are gas pressurised

I have no idea what grade should be used. When I took my old ones apart what came out was like water but the shock was shot

I't might be worth a few cheeky emails to leda (if they re-exist again) and their like to see if they have any ideas

Also well worth a post on the TSS forum to see if duncan has any ideas

Strictly speaking no

The damppers are gas charged and there's no way to recharge the gas. However a suitable hp schraeder valve could be added

After that the guts are just old fashioned shim stacke and oil so easily serviced

Gas applies pressure to the oil to prevent it foaming leading to irregular and uncontrolled damping.

Unless you have a £2000 rebuildable Ohlins shock in your hands I'd just bin it for a new one.

Sorry!

John
