Hey guys.. bought a 205 gearbox for my 185 which had notchy and clunky worn out syncros (the triple and double coned ones!!) ive put redline MT90 in it and can change gears on the redline but down shifting will only go in with rev matching otherwise it will make awful noises and takes ages to get it in..

i was thinking of keeping the gearbox and getting it rebuilt and putting it in my 165, im not sure of the condition of the 165 gearbox coz the clutch on it is crapped out and wont shift well in any gear.

so the question is should i keep the RC gearbox, rebuild it and put it in the 165 or sell the thing and use the unknown 165 gearbox?

thanks

Not sure about compatability between 165 and 185 gearboxes.
185 and 205 are interchangeable.

I would try the 165 gearbox first and see if its ok.
If it is ok then sell the RC gearbox, if its not then you'll have the same dilema.

May be worth checking to see what the gear ratios are in each box and then decide which one to rebuild.
