this was on a st185 of mine.think its some sort of boost cut defender but it looks a little complicated for just that. 4 wires comin out

What part No. on the device with a metal tab ? I'd hazard a guess it's a 7805 regulator.

Post pics of underside & I can trace the circuit.

At a guess, I would say FCD. Looks like red & black are 12V power to regulator. Other 2 are probably in & out. LM358 is an op-amp and coupled wiith the pot it probably just reduces the boost signal slightly so the ECU thinks it has a lower boost.

Looks pretty certain its a fcd. Output voltage will follow input exactly up to the limit set by the pot.

Will post circuit tomorrow.
