has anyone noticed that the whole car is powerd from a wire that takes its feed from the starter motor 12v supply and that this wire is......well.......abit pony........abit on the small side. having said that it has powerd the car for 20 years now but im not sure i can sit back and forget about it now! i mean this wire has to supply every thing 12v apart from the starter. any opinions??

replace with 4gauge wire. Not sure if I put my battery relocation tutorial here, but is is on gt4oc and talks about replacing that particular cable

Not wishing to be picky, but the alternator supplies the power to the car while running. The wire to the battery only carries the current to charge the battery and will only be up at very high currents for a few minutes after starting.
