what do members use to tow their gt4 to a track day? as the gt4 is a very heavy car

Muddy uses a Nissan Navarra and I use a Nisan Patrol or will do when the track toy is ready. I tried towing my Elise with a Four and that was hard work...and it only weighed half of a Four

Used to have a Hilux in Oz. Similar to the Surf and was very happy with it. The only reason I didn't get one of these was they are all a bit old with high miles. Worth checking what engine its got as there was one type that had a rather chequered history. Worth a quick Google.

cheers for that, im now looking at may be a 530bmw as that can tow 2000k so when i stip the 185 ill be getting it donw to about the 1350kg so witha trailer at 450kg ill be ok to tow it

I think that you'd be better off getting a 4x4 (patrol/surf/navarra/hilux/ranger/...) as it gives you the additional space to carry spare track wheels, tools, etc.

I must say I agree with Muddy. I find my 4x4 incredibly useful for lugging oversize and heavy items like engines, gearboxes, body panels etc. I did consider something like a Volvo or Audi 4x4 estate so I could use it as a dual purpose vehicle but they are not really practical as tow/paddock support vehicles and they are a lot more expensive.

the thing is i will be needing it to to the 185 but allso will need it as my daily car so need something comefy and wont cost an arm and a leg to run, iv seen in the back of the bmw estate and my god thay are big, but i still want to make shore im legal for the towing weight of my car and trailer ill be striping the 185 down as much as i can so should be able to get it down to about the 1300kg from what i have been told, and if i get a trailer that weighs about 450kg ill be under 1800kg

I actually use my Navarra as a daily driver. (120 mile round trip per day).
Drives like a car, comfortable, cruises happily at 80 but is a bit thirsty. (@23 miles per gallon). However, I have recently fitted a TuneIt Diesel performance box and getting @27 miles to the gallon.

found a new car im probly going for 2001 AUDI Allroad 2.5 TDi Quattro this will do the job nice

If you are going for one of those check the air suspension is working OK. The suspension can have reliability issues and its very expensive to fix.

thanks will do i have been having a good read about them and on the forums thay say that if it does play up then its cheaper to repalce with a coiler spring set up.
