Hi all
This is my first post here as I'm the proud new owner of a 1990 narrow-body ST185 import, which just I've bought as a weekend toy/project.

Anyhow, in the absence of an owner's manual that I can actually read (mine's all in Japanese :) ), can anyone tell me what the two switches do that sit a few inches down straight below the ignition key slot?

thanks in advance

In my case the right-hand switch has obviously been added by a past owner, so I'll have to trace the wiring back and figure out what that is myself (possibly going to boost-controller or turbo-timer), but here's the left-hand one:

It's a bit blurred, as I was holding a torch with one hand when I took it :)

I would take a guess at either door lock or window lock? Does anything happen when you push the switch? Dorris

they are usually on the drivers door switch panel though? Does look like some sort of window/door lock control though

Thanks for the replies everybody. After much research involving various online Japanese translators, I finally figured out that the writing on the switch
リモコン
means 'rimokon', or remote control, so I'm guessing it must change the operation mode of the central locking or something like that. Makes perfect sense, as the little section with it in the manual is in the middle of all the other locking related stuff.

I'll have a play at the weekend when I have time, but since there's an aftermarket alarm on the car anyway there's a chance the switch won't actually do anything at all.

cheers
Mark
