Ive litrally just fitted water temp and oil pressure sensors on the 185. I put a 't' piece in from the original oil pressure location and drilled and tapped a hole just infront of the thermostat for water temps. Im pritty sure they will function fine. Im sure someone will put me right if not... :D

For the water - I would either fit it into the water elbow where the other sensors are or into the top hose just off this location. You can get an adapter for the top hose specifically for this purpose which is what I've done.

The thermostat side is not ideal as there is limited flow here until the thermostat opens. However just as a guide it would be ok and certainly better than the standard gauge.

The oil pressure sensor you are best locating off the cylinder head where the standard one goes. Couple of things to keep in mind is that if you want to keep the standard sensor then you will need a 'T' piece, they do these in brass and steel, there have been reports of the brass ones fracturing, you must be careful to get the correct thread and to fit it carefully as the alloy thread on the cylinder head is easy to damage. Also you need to be sure there is clearance for the sensors. My sensor was quite large so I used a length of oil pipe to relocate the sensors away from the cylinder head with the pipe plumbed into the standard position.

Good luck!

sensor isnt too big its a defi one.

so you took a length which was 1/8bsp to 1/8bsp, then had an adapter into that?

A 't' piece with 1/8 NPT male thread to screw into the head, and then two female threads some where else on the 't' piece to screw sensors into.

hmm, its hard to find out online. Maybe a phone call to the main stealer tomorrow morning would help. Im sure someone on here must know. As i said, i used NPT which worked fine. Buts theres really not much in it so maybe mine will work loose after a while or once removed i wont be able to fit it for a second time... Better to research it for sure.

The Think Automotive catalog states the thread size as 1/8 BSPT.

The issue with cleanance using a t-piece directly into the head is that the sensor can foul on the chargecooler bracket as one sensor goes in straight and the other at right angles - you can end up with the t-piece not being 'tight' when its in the correct position for fitting giving leaks.

Thats my oil pipe.

And the t-piece I am using

Hope that helps.
