You would need to do a bespoke install using a T3 flange welded to the manifold and machined to suit. Quite a few people have done this, most notably Fensport and one or two of the Toyota Sprint Series guys. I would only consider this with one of the newer 'X' series turbos with the lighter billet compressor wheels otherwise the spool/lag issues would make it a real pain to drive on the road.

The logistics can be solved
You already have the manifold, oil and water lines can be arranged by trawling hrough the think auto catalog and downpipes are available from the likes of eBay, TB developments, ATS racing etc etc

The problem, as Don implied, is the turbo choice. A 35 series turbo is a big frame. It's not well suited to small displacement 4 banger. It will work for some applications - drag racing and possibly track but it will be a pain on the road.
When it does spool it will make lots of air but on a standard engine this will be shortly before the point where VE starts falling (circa 6000 rpm)
I think the overall area under the torque curve would be much lower than, say, a 30 series Garrett. Basically you'd make a here it comes engine not a good puller. More akin to an old diesel where there's eventually a brief surge of lots of power then it dies again leaving a narrow powwerband

Swap the turbo to a 3071 or 3076, preferably the gtx versions, and you'd have a good road setup

would the above be a viable option for track days as well?

Hi,

i doesn't want to make comercial but have a look to the EFR series of borg warner turbos

http://www.turbodriven.com/en/performan ... s/efr.aspx

Titan internals sounds good in my ears and also the other bits are fine especially the twin entry design

Just to confirm Sunny's comments on the Borg Warner turbos. They are probably more technically advanced than the Garrett turbos. They were the first to introduce the billet compressor wheels and stainless turbine housings. Garrett responded with the GTX series but the BW turbos are still worth a look.

latest when i drive one, but in front of the overall coasts of my project i think it becomes hard to get the engine ready this year :(

i'am just told from full-race that i can't can find any faster on the market, good to know but a true test would say more
meanwhile the turbos are to new (becomes introduced to europe in the middle of the year) so i also couldnt found a 3S-GTE engine running these turbo

Don, do you know about a stand alone ecu can read the speed sensor of the EFR series?

Owen Developments do a turbo speed sensor, mainly for the Irish rally guys who seem to overspeed their turbos and hence lose power. They also do the Garrett GT30 based turbos for the 450bhp Audi 1.8T engines in the Formula 2 single seaters. I would imagine that the speed sensor is logged but I'm not sure if the ECU would do anything other than simply monitor the values?
