Can anyone tell me if the ST205 camber settings are affected by lowering springs, if so, is it possible to adjust this?

Thanks
Rob

HI,
As a general rule, when you lower the ride height, you will cause an increase to camber, plus changes to toe.

The rear camber/toe is a little adjsutable on all models 165 to 205.

Front however requires adjustable top mounts, for 205, on 165,185, camber bolts & top mount & packing blocks will allow chages to the camber & castor.

I'd recommend a full geometry check rather than just checking the camber. Its worth doing this even for normal road driving not just for track days as even the slightest misalignment will result in uneven tyre wear and you'll not get the mileage out of them that you expected.

I've got a camber gauge but just use it to check nothings seriously out of alignment. I'll probably have more use for it once I start using cut slicks on track

i did have the alighment checked by a friend of mine on an Audi laser alignment checker, i gave him all the settings and he says it was ok.

Its just made me wonder as the car was lowered before i got it. I was reading that this would (not could) set the camber out by at least 100%.

I want to get this car right as i'm planning on a few track days and i dont want to be blaiming the car for my poor driving abilities.. ;-)

Rob,

One of the advantages of superstrut is that camber remains somewhat constant throughout suspension travel
So, unlike a conventional wishbone et al setup, it should not change dramatically when you lower the car

Not sure if Jon still has the post TRD numbers for my car that he can post......

I'm taking it to a different mate tomorrow that has a camber checking device. Would be handy to have some numbers though.

cheers
Rob

Had this checked and its fine. My mate says that the reason for the backend stepping out as much as it does is due to the tyre pressure, bad road conditions and the way i drive. He had a go in it and showed me how its done... blimey - i have a few things to learn i think?? mind you he has been racing for 15 years
