How about bore wash, I thought it was quite common - specially with stock (rich) setups?

i think there will be no detroyed engine but the components are the gaskets
the heat get pack up once there is no airflow in the engine bay which means unnecessary heat soak for all o-rings and shaft seals, and they get faster damaged

All cars built since 1994 run cat/closed loop lambda. This is tested as part of the MOT emissions test. The earlier GT4's also ran closed loop lambda.
