Hi,

today i wonder why the group A intake manifold just have one air connector on the red marked position against two ports on my non group a manifold (fuel press & throttle body damper)

and i wounder about those blanked connector and where it goes

Hi Sunny, yes, I remember seeing this additional connection.

I think that if you check then the connection isn't drilled through i.e. it's blanked. I have a feeling that this is part of the Antilag system this is non-functional on the road cars...

jdm cars don?t have the throttle damper. Or my jdn wrc doesn't .....

I don't recall if the second port is open or not I'll have to check somewhen!

Hi,

i also think that it is from the ALS, but could be a possible connector for the fuel pressure regulator in hope that it is accurat enought to take the pressure just from one runner, or what do you guys think?

i never know that JDM's doesn't use the damper, great info
how is it to drive without?

I can't tell any difference in driving really but maybe gearchange is a little faster. It's really made no difference TBH

I would not use the spare port for fpr as I'd be worried about pressure pulses in a single runner. If you look at the MAP sensor port fromthe main tank even this has a small accumulator on it so I thik enen there there is some pulsation. Maybe too fast for the fpr to respond though as that takes a direct feed

I changed the plumbing around some when I did the engine swap to tidy up the bulkhead a bit. Doesn't seem to have any bad effect so far
