Hi Folks,

Got an electronics question for you. I have a dash display that came with some sensors however the design is not great and they have failed - I took one apart a while ago and according to the coloured bands on the thermistor its a 1 kOhm type.

I've been looking around at different sensors on the market and it would seem that this is a slightly unusual spec for a sensor. I can have them made custom but its quite expensive.

What I am wondering is if there is any way that a standard Bosch sensor which from my research is a 2 kOhm type can be made to work with my display. The display I have is not configureable in anyway to accomodate for different resistances.

Any thoughts?

Cheers :)

Possibly the easiest/cheapest is to change the pull-up resistor inside the display unit.
This is likely to be an approximation as the 2K sensor may have a slightly different B parameter (how much resistance changes with temperature). Best bet is calibrate it so it's accurate at normal running temperature.
