The ecu knock code 52 will flash if you have blown a Knock Sensor or a break in teh shieldedcable form KS to ecu.

....regardless of whether you have or (have no)t a water leak , frost plug, headgasket or cracked block issue.

what tests have you done to establish head gasket failure?

my bud is going to do a leak down test this week, but i have changed 4 sensors and they seem to work for 2 weeks, than the code will come back, and i have even replaced the wire, still no luck, also it is running a mines 95 mr2 ecu, and i think the fuel pump is stock, think that would b the problem, its pushing close to 20psi

So you are running a mines ECU & almost 1.5 bar and suspect you have a failed headgasket.

From reading your previous posts I understand you are running AEM meth/water injection kit and have 91 octane fuel.

To be honest the standard Toyota knock sensor is not very robust and can be killed by excessive detonation. The amount of boost you are running combined with the ignition map of the mines ECU and the low octane fuel could mean you are getting shedloads of knock. I know you are running meth/water kit which will help but maybe it is blocked or was not enough of a safeguard?

JP - Just FYI if Canada is the same as the US then they use a different system for octane measurement. In the US its RON+MON/2 rather than just the RON - this usually gives a 4-5 octane difference so 91 in the US is about 95-96 UK equivalent.

Still at those boost levels presumbaly with some advanced timing from the ECU I would suspect the problem is actually knock destroying the sensors.

It does look like Canada use the "Anti-Knock Index" so the (R+M)/2 calc. As mike indicates it is roughly 4 points different so it is roughly like us guys running on cheap 95 unleaded at 1.5 bar and with a mines ECU. (the water/methanol will help to reduce detonation but probably not enough IMHO)

During winter months you have a pretty darn cold climate so may get away with it but during the summer your temperatures are similar to UK and I suspect you will get "issues".

I would get a leak down test done and/or a sniffer test (as per gary's pic).

Don't panic it may not be too serious but a list of possible worst case things to check/look for.
1) blown head gasket
2) cracked ringlands on pistons
3) crack in block between coolant jacket and cylinder.

I wish you luck and keep us posted on your findings :-)
