Thanks to a recent tip-off I managed to pick up this Toyota independent throttle body and plenum assembly from US fleabay for a bit of a bargain. It was originally fitted to the 900bhp 2.1 litre turbo Toyota 503E racing engine which was developed from the 3S-GTE and used to power the Toyota Eagle sportscar in the American IMSA series in the early 1990's. It will need some slight modification to fit a 3S-GTE head. Its all cast in magnesium so the whole assembly only weighs 5kg, amazing There may not be enough space for this in a GT-Four engine bay but if it can handle 900bhp then who cares I can always build a car around the engine! Yes, the later Corolla WRC with the Lexus derived engine used an ITB for better throttle response. I think Gary posted a diagram of it a few months back. |

Did it?? i thought it used a double inlet plenium from a single throttle body?? although I'm probably wrong but thats whats in my mind at the moment. Its strange this has come up as just the day before yesterday I was thinking about the possibilities of making throttle bodies for a ST205. Edit...just found the link...it did in deed use throttle bodies....hmmmm brain working. http://www.gt4dc.co.uk/forum/viewtopic. ... 1d6b5f3f84 |
