What bits are needed to convert to a ST205 ecu and loom set-up?

is it a case of changing the loom and ecu?
Obviously i have a mechanical speedo drive

Steve,

IMO it's not worth it

All you gain is the ability to run a PFC and loosing the AFM

I'd say you'd do better going for something like the Haltec which will allow AFM removal but won't require a complete rewire

I believe Gary wishes he'd done this instead of heading down the 185 ECU route on his.....

yeh Universal ECU that you can map is the way to go - the afm has been proved to give 2/10ths of bugger all bhp gain anyway - Could there even be a gain in torque by using one witha turbo car? Variable restrictor style?

IMHO look for a megasquirt, haltech, DTA

Sorry guys but I think this would be an upgrade for the 165!

It's certainly not the final solution but for ease it's going to be pretty good, providing all the loom plugs are the same!

Steve - I'd be thinking about knocking up a decent tailor made to your requirements loom with some sort of fancy ECU on the end.

Whilst the PFC is a top solution for a 205, it's not the be all and end all as far as ECUs are concerned imho

hmm,
I am not sure if you intended to use the power fc but- ditto what Kris said - there is no point installing a ST205 to use one. The only thing it has going for it is simplicity of installation to get a mappable ECU. If you lose the ease of install there are many items out there that will offer bigger bangs for smaller bucks
