Ok think this might be one for Mike here…

I am looking to Waxoyl the bottom of Krude, just wondering if anyone here has done the same????

Can this stuff be used by the tunnel & exhaust etc???? (Just wondering about the heat).

I have checked out the following link:

http://www.hammerite-automotive.com/sds ... _clear.pdf

Section 9 gives you technical temp data but to be honest it doesnt mean much to me, is that in the products chemical tin form or when it is set on the bottom of your car????
Doesn’t really make sense to me please help H&S guy :? :?

Cheers

Daz

I have never had any issues near exhausts

But then I've never used Hammerite stuff either. I have always had acces to pro grade stuff (not that I imagine it makes any difference lol)

Pro grade stuff...

Can you spray it on or do you have to paint it on??

I have heard that the spray on stuff is very poor, especially if you care what gets covered or not.

Its a really messy job - fortunatly I had access to a 4 post lift when I did mine which made it much easier, I would go for the tinned stuff as its easier to control.

Within reason you should be able to pretty much put it wherever, although I concentrated on the rear 'box' sections as this is where water can accumilate.

The datasheet will refer to the product in its 'use' state - ie gelatinous liquid that you paint on. No idea what sort of temperature resistance it would have, as a precaution I would keep it away from the exhaust. :)
