hi Kat,

most identify their ST205 WRC simply by the VIN number.

There is no other ID plaque or limited build number.

hth cheers :D

welcome to GT4DC

... i think you may have misunderstood.

Your VIN number = Vehicle Identification Number = frame number = the "WRC build" number -

Example:

UKDM ST205 WRC with VIN = JT164STL5 0002031

Frame number = ST205 0002031

"WRC build" number = 2031

Do remember that as far as we know its 2500 of the first 5000 cars. So the number one above and one below might not necessarily also be WRC's.

Hence it is not really appropriate to say that for example your car is WRC number 2031. Rather that your car is the 2031 ST205 and it happens to be a WRC.

Gary - I think that's why you used "WRC Build".

:)

Never heard that before. Do we know of a genuine OEM WRC spec ST205 with a frame number above 2500?

Gary, you are an uber geek!

My JDM is an 'early' frame number in the 1400 range but of course the frame number prefix is different to the UK spec where you quite rightly point out mine is above 2500. The other assumption of course is that the numbering starts at 0001  The lowest number on your list is 0183. My experience is that a lot of people claim they have a WRC but its actually a standard ST205 retrofitted with a WRC wing.

If your list is indeed all genuine OEM WRC's then Mike's point is proven.

An anorak will be presented to you in due course I'm sure!

thank you Don

FYI the VIN / frame numbering does NOT start at 0001 ;)

The table represents frame# & build month data taken directly from the EPC:

I noticed Don doing some up skirt voyeuring @ Le Mans to see if a 205 is a WRC or not.
