I think it bolts onto the side of the suspension tower.

Its a pretty cool little JDM bit :) But pricey...

Personally i've never thought that the pedal on an ST205 felt spongy. But i guess it depends on the fluid you run.

My first ST205 was spot on but my current (3rd) needed a fluid change when if first picked it up as the brake fluid was totally ruined. It looked like old engine oil!

when i got the 205 my brake fluid was the same so I replaced it with 5.1 and to be honest its still pretty spongy!

I do feel that brake sponginess is due to give in the brake system

I pumped nearly 2l of brand spanking 5.1 fluid through mine trying to get a good pedal. It is not solely fluid based

Both my cars have sponges pedals as does every 205 I've driven.
The red car on which I diagnosed the problem is fitted with braided Goodrich hoses all round and has freshly rebuilt calipers all round so I am certain that the braking system is as good as I can realistically get it

None the less the pedal is spongy and I can visibly see and measure flex in the servo. I don't think it's down to the fluid used

As I said it might be that internal bracing in the servo has failed but I can't easily check that without some drastic tin opener action which will render the servo scrap

I agree, its weak servo walls thats the fault.internals failing doesnt explain why so many are spongy. Even when not moving and at traffic speeds its spongy which pretty much discounts fluid (i could understand poor fluid being the problem at high operating temps but when its mega stable at slow speeds I dont feel its the problem)

Tim is knocking me one together when my car is in. Think he's planning to weld it to my strut brace. Be interesting to see how much difference it makes.
