Post subject: | Gear change |
Hello, I have a problem with changing gears. Most problems I have with the third gear. When engine is off I can change without problems from 1st - 5th with pressing clutch. When engine is running, gears a hard to get in and most problems with 3rd gear. But this problem is only sometimes! Complete clutch is not very old, max. 15.000km (ogura 409 i think) Any ideas? |

I would guess you have a little clutch drag. Many aftermarket clutches require a little more travel than standard to fully disengage. This requires the pedal stop to be moved up and the master sylinder clevis adjusted a bit longer so you end up with more pedal travel. A quick search on here for 'clutchmasters' should yeild more information on how to adjust. |

p.s. If it was ok and now getting worse, it is worth checking the bolts holding the clutch onto the flywheel are still done up. You can access bolts on a standard flywheel by removing the starter motor. (I know a twin plate setup that had this problem, you could access via the hole for the release arm) |
