Hi guys. Just a random one. Even when the tanks full the fuel light stays on? Any ideas? I was thinking possible float issues but the guage still registers. :-\ any ideas would be useful

Sounds like a short to ground on the wire, it could be within the tank or it could be external.

If you lift the white plastic cover on the boot floor you will see the wires to the fuel tank sensor. Try unplugging this and see if the light goes out, if so the problem is within the tank.

Agreed, definite electrical issue. As nibbles said, its far easier to eliminate any issue outside the tank before breaking into it. There's only a few places the problem could be

Is that the plug for the float?

Assuming its a gt4 you have these have 2 circuits on the sender, one for the level and another for the light so usually its the sender unit at fault

If you haven't got a clue about electrics, and since you're relatively local, your best way of resolving it is to pay me a visit or come along to the exmoor meet next weekend & I'll have a quick look then.

Have you got your gearbox changed yet ?
