Apparently the boost control solenoid from my Blitz DSBC Type R Boost Controller has suffered from oil contamination. I guess this is a consequence of the major engine failure I described in another thread a few days ago. Does anyone know whether this spells doom for the solenoid unit or will it work OK?

I have taken some pics of the very similar dual solenoid unit from my Blitz iColor with the cover off in case it helps.

My feeling is that it 'might' be fine - I would get Jon to put 12v across it and see what happens. :)

agreed, to be honest it will be pretty obvious very quickly and as long as your careful then no damage should be done

I imagine it will be OK. As Mike said a quick 12v test will show you

I put a cheap halfrauds inline fuel filter in line with mine to prevent such issues ;)

That sounds like a good idea! So you're not just a pretty face after all ;-)
