hello everybody, first time on the gt4dc! :)
im having a situation with my blitz access ecu on my late spec st185, it was working fine for a month or so but one day (I have a wideband installed) while driving the car would just suddenly run very lean (16-19),
Ive plugged my standard ecu back in and the car runs fine so leads me to believe my blitz is faulty, is there any way to get it checked/repaired?

they were only ever mapped in Japan as far as I am aware.

My friend who runs Rising Sun Racing has repaired a few ecu's on Supra 1jz-gte and 2jz-gte engines but as for mapping / solving the lean running they always seem to run more lean than a stock ecu

yeah it ran more lean compared to the standard and when it was working it was brilliant! but this is terrible, i can barely drive it :/
could it be a bad/ dry soldiering joint?

Have you tried running the standard ECU just to make sure the issue is with the blitz?

Is it intermittant or always the same ?

Which parts of the map is it running weak ? Cruising ? idle ? boot down (don't keep it down if it's weak) ?

When it's weak, is it misfiring ? regular misfire (2 or 3 cylinders) subaru type noise, or just random jerks ?

Do blitz ecu's allow fault code reading, if so do a fault code check & report.

Thoughts are either mis-reading a sensor or a fault in an injector drive, but could be many things.

Also worth a look viewtopic.php?f=2&t=5617 and viewtopic.php?f=2&t=6289&hilit=ecu+capacitor&start=15 Jeffs was the third I've seen, and AFAIK the blitz is a standard ECU plus an extra daughter board.

Yeah, Ive had 3 for repair and 2 of them worked after replacing the electrolytic capacitors, the third one was just plain dead and I could was unable to repair it. (oscillator was running of the daughterboard mind you.)
I even transplanted the blitct daughterboard over to another known working stock ecu but still had no joy with it.

Oh, and my stock ecu had a problem once where I had fueling/boost/stalling issues and replacing the visibly shot capacitor fixed all the problems. :)
(10 minute job)

In which case, follow this guide to read fault codes.

on boost or cruising its fine for a few seconds then just goes crap!
right now ive got the standard ecu back in and the car is running perfectly no faults whatsoever

there are no fault codes.
the problem keeps happening :/
plugged it back in today and its still the same, plugged my standard ecu and it runs perfect

it happens when cruising, and on boost. no misfires, i can feel the car ' reduce power' the car works perfectly on a standard ecu

You are using the higher octane fuel ? Ie. Ideally 99 ron or better.

Well its worth a look inside to see if any of the caps are leaking. Or any pcb track damage. Anyone close with a 185 you can Xie k it does the same fault on their car ?
