Firstly, is the ST185 and ST205 starter motors interchangeable?

My gut feeling says yes...
because the gearboxes are interchangeable but would like confirmation.

I'm running an ST205 gearbox (with a C-ONE gear set) on my track car so...
Secondly, would it be best to go with the ST205 starter motor?
(Or would it take more juice to turn - in other words would it be more dependent upon the battery being run/used).

TIA

They are interchangeable but connections are different so just refit model specific starter

Thanks Martin.
I better go and check my converted ST185>ST205 engine loom to see what starter motor connector I have.

Anyone got a picture of the connectors (ST185 and ST205) please - so I know what I'm looking at/for.

Afaik the 205 starter is MUCH smaller (and lighter?) anyway.
