 Post subject: Ignition switch current.

Anybody know what the max current switched by the ignition switch is? engine on and the cranking position please?

It won't be much more than non cranking. Its mostly switching relays on. Or heavy duty starter solenoid.. Which is from a relay IIRC

I believe the various poles of the first 2 positions do carry a fair bit of current, they certainly have some pretty substantial cable to them (5mm sq ish). Pretty sure the starter bit just carries a relay drive. I know the immobiliser fitted to my car was switching these lines behind the dash and both relays burnt out after a time.

The Toyota receiver died so made a new one + keyfob. As the fob has 5 buttons, I thought id make use of them.
