hi all, just purchased a innovate mtx-l afr gauge and sensor and am going to replace the standard o2 sensor with the wideband one as the innovate is apparently able to replicate.

Was actually wondering though, what does the standard sensor do as is only one wire?

On another subject, my engine light flashes now and again up top end of revs on hard throttle, what does this mean?
I have the apexi power fc and its all happening on my 185.

Most likely detonation. If you look on the commander it should tell you.

I generally reccommend against controlling from the same sensor as monitoring. Wideband sensors have limited lifespan and can become inaccurate slowly. If you are running closed loop on this, you will be none the wiser.

The standard sensor is a zirconia type which pushes out a 0-1V signal (approx.). The single wire is referenced to engine earth. The 3 or 4 wire versions have a heater built in so become valid much quicker.

The sensor will be calibrated every 2 months and will also be mounted quite far down the exhaust away from too much temp.

Just in process of mapping car on hybrid td04, hence the wideband afr.

just re-read your last posr chris, and when you say the standard sensor uses a voltage of 0 - 1v, what is the lambda at either end, i.e is 0v= 0.5 lambda so about 7.4 afr and 1v = 1.5 lambda and about 22 afr?

Just curious as this gauge can be programmed with voltages to replocate standard sensor, but i am not sure what volts are at what lambda.

0.2 = Weak, 0.8 = rich

I haven't found any exact info on how wide a swing in afr it is from 0.2 to 0.8, but it seens very narrow. Matbe start with 14.8 = 0.2V and 14.6 = 0.8V. If you find the ECU struggling to remain stable then widen it. I believe the PFC has a setting to use a wideband input directly so that may save you the effort.
