Simple answer is no. |

More complex answer, almost. You need the rev3 oil pump - you will then also need the rev 3 cam belt. . You need to to drill & tap some of the mounting holes for the rev3 scraper plate (rev 2 it's built into the sump).. A couple of the sump to block bolt holes don't line up, so will need block drilling & tapping or sump drilling. |

I would say that people overwhelmingly use the Rev3 over the Rev2. Why is a much bigger question which is tougher to answer, there a certainly more bigger power ST205's out there than ST185's but that is in my opinion at least partially to do with the popularity of the ST205 over the ST185. |

1) The oil filter & sump & baffling setup is much better on the ST205. 2) There is some babble on the internet that the ST205 blocks suffered more from cracking. Item 1 is clear - Item 2 is not. |

Item 1 is clear - Item 2 is not. thank you very much, so really a baffled sump would be a good addition to the rev 2 bottom end |

I think number 2 is due to their being a lot more tuned Rev 3 engines out there. |

When you take into account the USA 3sgte tuning scene I would suggest the rev 2 is more common in high power guise than rev 3. It is speculative either way. |
