Gary, how about using fibreglass to fill in the gaps under the cooler? Fibreglass and resin would make an awesome heat barrier. :)


Also after discovering how the IC pump works, it would definitely work better when it IS NOT running constant. If you run it constant, you'll have warm water circulating at all times :P if you have it on only when the throttle is open, you will get cold water each time you open throttle.

Can't see that being a good idea. Given that the plug leads are under there they would soon fail due to the heat.
