Hey geat bit of info thanks :-)

Im thinking the rod may well be worth looking into.
I will realease the clevis bolt from the peddle, although i didn't have to pull or push it to get it to line up with the hole in the peddle? and see if that helps.
if not i will slacken off the M/Cyl and see if that helps if not I will be in the market for another servo :-(

Hi, having spoken with someone that has a st205 servo to hand and they said they can not pull air through the vac port...
unless someone else can 100% confirm this is incorrect i will be looking for another unit.

bugger really as the engine went back in few weks ago :-(

Servo is fubar Steve

If it won't even make a vacuum, let alone hold it then either there's a pipe open to atmos somewhere that you've missed or the diaphragm is dead

I shall possibly suck mine tomorrow but now I have to suck a couple of pints :hic:

Sorry the picture didn't make it to the post so i'll try and explain.

the rod that needs checking for length is located inside the servo into the rear of the master cylinder.

just thought id make that clear.

disconnecting the peddle rod (ie under the dash might not help) but try it any way.

while slackening off the master might well just increase the air leak.

although thinking about it if the servo to master rod was too long then i would expect brake bind. where as if the peddle to servo rod was too long that would opperate the servo while maybe not causing bind.

i have to agree with two ho five.

you shouldn't be able to draw air but the rod length is worth a try 165 and 205 may have different peddle to bulk head distances.

Looks to be the issue here :-(
I'm thinming it was dropped or badly removed from the original car, worth noting this is all hidden under a black rubber boot and not visible unless you go looking.

Any one have a spare servo i may buy?

Hi Kris, yeah tbh I'm pleased I have found the prob.
The car was idling but i had to whind the idle screw right in on the T/Body!
I hope the nex servo will sort the brakes and a few other issues ;)
