Morning all :D
If I provide the chassis number does any one have access to the database to prove date of manufacture for my ST185 please?
I’ve currently misplaced my MOT folder which had the information in as the DVLA show a catch-all of 31/12/92 but I know she was built at the end of January 1992 so legitimately doesn’t require a cat for test purposes.
Many thanks,
Stuart

Evening Fella, Long time no speak.

I thought cars pre 93 did not need a cat test, so in theory with the DVLA date, is should not need a cat test.
Is yours an import ? I can't remember from when we last spoke.

I have found something quickly, and might help you out

https://www.japan-partner.com/check-man ... e-year.php

Looking at it, I'll probably check mine, as mine seems to have the early spec boost cut even though it reckons mine was built December 91.

Hope this helps you out mate

Martyn

If it's an import then the rules are different because the JDM version of the engine does not have EGR and therefore not designed to pass UK emissions laws at the time - there is therefore no exact match in the database.

If it's a UK car, then you should have date of first registration on the V5.

The following link shows the details:

Hi Martyn, you’re not wrong but I’m still about, just
She’s a JDM so I’ll get the chassis number and check via the link later :D

@Nibbles V5 was in the same folder for convenience so re-applying for that at present
I’ll check out the link provided later, thank you :)

She did pass the MOT with flying colours based on pre-Aug 92 emissions but tester wants proof for the records.
