Looks like a good and innovative idea. I am sure that for track use the claimed improvements in heat dissipation and associated effectiveness (ie no fade ever) will be of massive value.

For road use however I am no so sure; surely the biggest factor that determines braking distance of a vehicle is the rubber contact that vehicle has with the road? I suspect (having never studied the subject in great depth by the way) that most of the 6 and 8 pot brake packages out there can provide a lot more 'tractive braking power' than most road legal tyres can transmit to the road before grip between tyre and road surface is lost.

Maybe kind of the same as having a 1000bhp front wheel drive nova?

what rhino said. ultimately it comes down to rubber>tarmac interaction to prevent the wheel locking.

that link above looks to me like a 4 paddle clutch assembly, only providing praking effort :)

Was watching a documentary on it, they have tested it on off & on road cars (Also a US porka 911 tubby race car) the results are amazing, near on 60% improvement on everything they have tested so far.

The road trials are still ongoing but they have some considerable interest from mainstream manufactures.

Cool.

Hopefully with a 'new big boy' on the market the price for 'lesser' brake products such as decent 6 pots will come down a touch...you never know lol

It will be interesting to see if anything similar appears on f1 and wrc cars in the next few years
