Just had my 2nd hand manifold delivered.
All seems ok but I did find this where the manifold joins the turbo.
It's circled in red and it appears to be a flat blob of metal. It's almost semi-circular to look at. There is a deep groove that goes around it's edge which I have marked in blue. Is this normal?

Need to know pretty quick as it'll be going on the car next week and if it's no good I'll have to buy a new manifold.

Cheers guys

Steve

Steve - is this a mark/casting defect or a crack?

If it's a casting defect then no problem and it could be removed with a grinder.

It looks like it's always been there TBH Kris. I'm not sure if it would have effect on the performance of the turbo/manifold......

From the picture it looks like this is of a fairly minimal consequence on performance. For piece of mind I would probably remove the "blob" with a grinder but that's probably unnecessary.

I had another look Kris and it's deffo a casting blemish but not a bad one at all. The turbo holes are by no means even and you can tell it's a cast manifold due to these little blemishes. I'm happy with it and it'll be in Mr Smith's hands a week tomorrow.
Cheers Kris....I posted up as I wasn't sure having never seen the manifold from a gt4 before.
Thanks for helping me out so quickly.

Steve
