I believe that one of the good points of the course is that the lectures are provided in printed hard copy for you to take away. This may help you to understand. Maybe ask them for a copy before you attend to read and interpret any items you may struggle with?

They already told me that they'll send me the book in advance to help me understand...
I was just afraid that the teacher was speaking London English
but fortunately is not...

IMHO buy the book. Ben Strader has some items he teaches that I am not 100% comfortable with how he demonstrates. IIRC one of these is AFR for maximum power. He is reported to demonstrate how an NA car with an afr of 10% variance effects the peak BHP very little compared to a 10% variance in timing. My issue is that he picks an AFR 5% either side of where peak BHP should be made!

If I understood correctly, it seems to me ok that a +/-5% afr gives little variance compared to an equal timing variance.

When & where is the course or any links? A friend of mine did the basic course a fair few years back and was happy with the content.

I may be tempted to go do the course dependant on dates/availability & cost :-)

Normandy 23/35 January
Basic is... 695 $ ???
And Advanced is 1000 and something $...

Even if I don't know yet if it'll be possible for me to leave my shop to be ther....... finger crossed...

blimey - that is sooo close to us. I think we have 4 staff members within 5 miles of that location! Nearest is about 2 miles.

I will have a look and post up details of the event as maybe some people would be interested in attending.

Unless things have changed recently, I don't think they let LPG cars travell on the Eurotunnel. Nope, still the same - from Eurotunnell site;

Quote:
Conditions for fuel
We regret that LPG (or equivalent flammable gas) vehicles cannot be transported by Eurotunnel even if it is being used as a secondary fuel source.
However other dual powered vehicles can be accepted e.g. petrol/electric.

So it seems I'll be there next October 9-10-11 !

As I'll have free Sunday afternoon, any advice to go from Guildford to London by Tube?

Thanks

Guildford to London by train is about 30 minutes.
Gets you in to London Waterloo station where you can get a tube if you need to. Waterloo is right by a few attractions such as Tate modern art gallery.

If you find you have a spare evening let me know and a few of us can meet up for dinner.

I'll be there with my VW Caddy, so I was thinking about getting to the nearer to Guildford Tube station and park there...
