Hi folks. Does anyone know if the rear shockers on the 205 are the same as on my CS?
Some sites show number as 48530/40 for both but supplementary references vary 20590/600/610 etc???
The CS got a MoT recommendation on them and I have spares for the ST205.

In a word - no.

The 205 is slightly wider at the back while the distance between turret tops is the same. This change in angle results in the 2 mounting holes to the hub being changed to correct the angle and leave the wheels vertical. They are otherwise the same.

If you fit 205 shocks on a 185 you will get a little positive camber at the back which certainly won't help handling.

One option if you really want to do it is to machine one of the holes in each shock to a slot (only needs a couple of mm) to make camber adjustable.

That is very interesting. Thank you. I may consider that option if I cannot source some 'newish' correct shocks :) cheers nibbles.
It is also great to note the site still has some regular attendees!!!
