Now my ST202 is MOT'd and taxed I have been using it daily to run it back in.

But when you turn on the aircon you get the lovely smell of cat's wee :(

I guess it's not too happy at being stuck in a garage for 12 months.

I think I remember a while back someone talking about "air con febrese". basically a spray can of a product that eliminates odours like this. All you have to do is spray it into the air intakes and it does the job without hassle etc etc.

Does this stuff exist? Where can you get it? Did I dream it? And does it work?

TIA

Never heard of it myself, but wouldn't using fabreeze or similar odour eliminator work??

Just spay some in the vents anyway???

Got to be worth a try at least?

I thought so.

I've been running it full blast every time I go out to try and clear the passages, as it were.

The Fours aircon needs regassing so it's nice to have one that actually makes cold air... Even if it does smell.

Yes it does exist, you should be able to get it from a Motor Factors.

I bought a can about a year ago as my A/C was a little musty. :)

it's bacteria in the a/con system that makes it smell...febreese or the likes won't work, you want some proper aircon cleaner.
most motor factors, halfrauds or your local mr t will sell it.
the forte stuff is probs the easiest stuff to use and your car will smell of apples afterwards :D

Found some stuff in Halfrauds while I was out.

Let it off in the car with the aircon going on recycled air and leave for 10 minutes.

I'll let you know if it works.

lol at candyman...I'll have to get some of that then, the old 'spilt some water under my arms' excuse is getting less and less believable.

Seriously though, the feeling of warmth I got when I removed the bloody weighty aircon gear from the car far outweights the feeling of warmth its absence generates. It's good for the soul man
