Hi all, In my ST205 ive got the 8 speaker stereo system but since fitting a uk headunit only 4 of the speakers work... Somebody said to me its because of uk stereos having 4 pre-outs or something like that? My question is has anybody on here got around the problem?

I dont know the greatest amount about sound systems and am not really into them either but seeing as the car has the system id like it to be working!

hmm, My new alpine head unit plugs straight into teh RCA inputs of teh 8 speaker amp - I must admit I cant totally remember but I think it was just 2 off pair of RCA as is typical.

i tought the live system was 10 speakers.

how many conections to the amp did the old head unit use?

depends on the head unit newer ones use a low out put voltage to the pre outs than old stuff.

other thought have you connected the remote amp lead from the radio to the amp?

the 10 speaker setup was fitted to the ST185 - the St205 did away with the rear seperate tweeters and hence is only an 8 speaker setup.
6 in the frongt - 2 n the rear

What head unit?

Don't have the system so I don't really know but did he hook up both RCA and speaker level connections?

The mid level front door speaker and the rear speakers are working. And it an alpine cd head unit.

hi all,
is it all st185's that have a 10 speaker system? i dont.
just 6 i think, 2 tweeters,2 lower down and 2 in the rear sides?
if i have some secret speakers you could enlighten me about that would be cool.

red st185, running 10 psi all gears, powerflow cat back, and air filter. oh and fab scoop splitters

no - system 10 or "superlive" was a factory option on JDM only vehicles on teh ST185.

ST205 had "superlive" consisting of 8 speakers again a JDM only option.

Uprated systens as above have 8" woofers in teh front doors, circa 4" mids in teh doors and Tweeters in the usual place. Reart speakers are 160mm IIRC with tweeters on teh ST185. All are then powered actively by 2 off amps. 1 under passenger seat and 1 below the head unit in centre console.

Div, if you get stuck and you really wnat to get it sorted I can give you the name of a pukka guy who does ICE and alarm installs.
He will charge you but he is worth every penny in my mind.
